Volun-tees

Work Experience and Enterprise 

Volun-tees is the University volunteering programme that provides information, advice and support to University volunteers. There are three main ways to volunteer Opportunities in the local community – with over 250 organisations registered with Volun-tees. Our Make a Difference (M.a.D.) Days and Projects – student led volunteering opportunities to help you develop important skills and experience University volunteering – opportunities on Campus – such as PASS Leaders, English Language Café Volunteers Whatever role you are involved with – either on or off campus – we can provide you with the support you need and the recognition you deserve!

Skills Development Initiative 

Free English language support is available for International students in 30 minute 1-1 sessions with an English language tutor in the Learning Hub. We can offer you support if English is your second language and you need help with academic writing or any aspect of English.

Student Jobs within the University,Work Experience and Enterprise 

The Teesside University Students' Union Job Service is within the Students' Union and advertises hundreds of part time jobs every month for students studying at Teesside University and its partnership colleges. We try, where ever possible, to find you a vacancy that fits around your timetable and over 10,000 students have found work through the service since its launch Towards the end of term, graduate jobs are advertised with the Job Service which can help third year students when looking for a career related to their course.

Placement and Internship,Work Experience and Enterprise 

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships A KTP involves the formation of a partnership between a business and a UK University, enabling businesses to access academic skills and expertise required to develop innovative projects or services. A recent graduate will facilitate this transfer of knowledge. The graduate will work on a strategic project jointly supervised by a University and the business. KTPs are flexible in length from 12 months to three years depending on the nature of the knowledge transfer. Most KTP Associate posts nationally are advertised at jobs.ac.uk (search KTP Associate) Innovate Tees Valley and Innovate Durham (Graduate Internships and Knowledge Exchange Internships) Projects involve a collaboration between Teesside University and a SME business located in the Tees Valley or Durham area, enabling businesses to develop innovative processes or products with the knowledge and skills of a recent graduate. Those projects with academic support are called Knowledge Exchange Internships KEIs
