Opportunity In Brief

Diversi-tees is a positive action mentoring scheme that aims to enhance the career prospects of students from groups who may be at a disadvantage in the graduate employment market. The scheme matches students with a volunteer mentor from an organisation in the North East.

Benefit to you

As a mentee you can draw on the experience of professionals in the work place to maximise your potential. This includes: 

  • Gaining more employer contacts
  • Discovering new career options
  • Getting help with job applications
  • Seeing theory in practice
  • Work shadowing.

Who can apply

Through links with local employers the scheme supports:

  • Black and minority ethnic students
  • Disabled students
  • Mature students (21+ at entry to Higher Education)
  • Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender
  • Care leavers.
